About the GSSI Expert Working Groups (EWGs)
The GSSI Expert Working Groups (‘EWGs’) execute the mandates of the GSSI Steering Board within defined timeframes. The Steering Board has installed three different EWGs to develop version 2.0 of the Global Benchmark Framework:
& Governance & Scheme Management EWG
Aquaculture EWG
Fisheries EWG
The GSSI Steering Board has assigned one Board member (“Ambassador”) to act as a liaison to the EWGs to ensure effective communication between the Steering Board, GSSI EWGs, and stakeholders; and support and monitor the GSSI EWGs work and progress.
EWG members are operational experts drawn from GSSI Partner Companies, and external experts from public, private and NGO organizations.
More information about experts
- Experts are individuals who represent their organization with specific expertise in the subject.
- EWG members are appointed by the Steering Board.
- EWG members shall serve for a period determined by the GSSI Steering Board according to the workplan.
- Once the EWG members have been appointed resulting in a representative group, the membership will be closed until the mandate is complete.
