Lisa Max has over 10 years of experience developing, implementing, and assessing against fisheries ratings and certification standards. She also works with large seafood buyers to evaluate and improve corporate seafood sourcing policies. Before working with MFE, Lisa was Senior Fisheries Scientist with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch Program and Lead for the Seafood Carbon Emissions Tool.

Lisa specializes in designing and implementing multi-stakeholder and expert evaluative processes and has worked within and across the public, non-profit, private, and international organization sector. She holds two master’s degrees. One in Marine Ecology from UC Santa Barbara and one in Environmental Management from Yale University
