Osires de Melo graduated in 1981 in Recife, Brazil, on Fishing and Aquaculture Engineering. In his 40 years of experience, he designed several fish and shrimp farms, hatcheries, and processing plants. He even found time to be the President of the Latin American Chapter of the World Aquaculture Society for two terms.

Osires is also an experienced auditor for Fishing and Aquaculture as well as Agriculture and Social Certification Standards, diligently doing his job in many countries across 4 continents.
